ISO standard

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) stands for the structured and technical written documents and  representatives from various national organizations to maintain equal minimum standard to meet requirement. Founded on 23 February 1947, ISO promotes worldwide proprietary, industrial and commercial standards. The head quarter is located in Geneva, Switzerland and works in 162 countries. [1]
While we are working on future classroom concept we need to visualize the present and future standard ability issues. It creates:
  • Context of use.
  • Usage requirement.
  • Designing and evaluating solution and its requirement.
We have found that the following ISO standard could be usable according to our project:

ISO 5970:1979: This standard represents Furniture Chairs and tables for educational institutions Functional sizes. It ensures that the furniture permits good sitting postures. The seven sizes for seating and related tables based on a reference stature are given and we are going to utilize this standard for positioning the human back while sitting in our project.

ISO 9241: is a multipart standard from the ISO covering ergonomics of human-computer interaction part. this part is managed by the ISO Technical Committee 159.The  original name was titled Ergonomic requirements for office work with visual display terminals (VDTs). From 2006, the standards were changed to the more generic Ergonomics of Human System Interaction. And we decided to maintain this standard for the visual display we are going to use in our project.
ISO 9241-20: This part of ISO 9241 is intended for use by those responsible for planning, designing, developing, acquiring, and evaluating information/communication technology (ICT) equipment and services. this standard  provides  an insight for improving the accessibility of ICT equipment and services such that they will have wider accessibility for use at work, in the home, and in mobile and public environments. It covers matters related with the design of equipment and services for people with a wide range of sensory, physical and cognitive abilities, including those who are temporarily disabled, and elderly and thus it ensures our smart chair to be working as it should.
ISO 9241-302: This is the definitions of flat-panel display pixel defects provided in the ISO-9241-3xx series of standards (which renders obsolete ISO 13406-2). These identify three classes for measuring pixel defects in flat panel displays.
